A cerebral reflection of being suspended in synchronisitc alignment yet surrounded in uncertainty. A stage of personal power that comes from recognizing the moment – and reveling in its immediacy and torrent chaos – the eye of the storm.

A self-portrait; through intamate relationship to the material and exploration of personal identity in dutch motifs that originate from childhood. These textures, the form, and the material represent ripples of my experiences. The form of an emblem, the color and pattern of a traditional dutch hex, a deep connection to the unique people and circumstances that made me, and a homage to my own alignment with my purpose.

Now creating works centered on ethnic and environmental research; the form is a  sculptural reimagining of traditional dutch barn signage called “hex signs.” Originally used to conjure prosperity, fertility, and luck in the coming seasons. As a descendant ancestor and a contemporary sculptor; this work explores the fractal connections between identity, past, and present.
